We woke up early this morning to start our hike out of our first backcountry section along Strait Creek. We are proud to announce we accomplished our ambitious group goal was to catch 500 fish!

For two days we spread out along Strait and Winter Creeks catching wild and eager Brook Trout. It was a perfect opportunity for the first time fly fishers in the group to work on the basics and the experience anglers to practice new techniques.
Today we will be doing some laundry, taking hot showers, and checking out the historic Park’ Fly Shop in Gardener Montana. After some burgers in town we will head back into Yellowstone and fish the Gardener River near our campsite. The next few days will be spent exploring some of the famous front country rivers in Yellowstone including the Lamar River. We will let you know how it goes before we head into the backcountry again on the 16th.
