Hello! Our names are Ed, Cole, and Burke. We are the trip leaders for your kid’s Yellowstone Expedition. Today was the travel day. Thank you for communicating the travel details. Everyone arrived safe and sound!
After most all of the group arrived (still waiting on one!), either by plane or car, we had an intro session at basecamp in Ennis and divided the first tent groups. We showed the guys how to set up tents, so that they can withstand anything the Yellowstone environment throws at us. After setting up their tents and settling in a bit, we had a knots clinic. Students learned how to tie a handful of knots. Knowing these knots help push them toward being self-sufficient anglers. After the clinic, we set up a burger dinner and discussed the plan for our trip.
Tomorrow, we are heading to the Bridge Bay campground to fish the area around the Upper Yellowstone, home to some of the biggest lake run trout in the park. Then, we will set our sights on the Slough Creek backcountry trip.
We couldn't be more excited about the days ahead - it's a great group of guys. You'll hear from us again soon!
Best,
Ed, Cole, Burke, and the gang
