Hello families!
The guys have arrived in Bozeman, MT for the second Yellowstone Adventure! The guide team just completed their first Adventure of the summer and had an absolute blast. Tons of big fish and many memories made, so we are pumped for round two, to say the least! This trip is an outstanding experience for a number of reasons: the many different types of fish, two very cool backcountries, and the beautiful scenery we get to witness in Yellowstone National Park. Thank you so much for sending your sons to experience it with us!
After meeting at the Bozeman Airport, we made the beautiful drive to LFFE Base Camp located right outside Ennis, MT. On the drive the guys got to witness the beautiful Madison Valley and caught a glimpse of the Madison River, which we will be fishing towards the end of the trip. Once at Basecamp, the guys got their gear situated, set up tents and sleeping gear, and devoured some burgers and fries. In preparation for the coming days ahead, we worked on certain fishing techniques, outdoor etiquette and safety, and outdoor skills. After getting familiar with one another, the guys played ping pong, foosball, and ultimate frisbee, sharing some laughs before heading to bed.
After a long day, everyone was eager to get some sleep with early mornings and long days ahead. Tomorrow we will get up and break down basecamp. We will enjoy some delicious fried egg sandwiches before loading the trailer and hitting the road towards Yellowstone. Tomorrow we will set up camp in Yellowstone at Madison campground. We will also get straight to the fishing and check out a couple front country rivers, including the Gibbon and Firehole Rivers.
Tomorrow afternoon/night we will prepare for our first backcountry trip into Grebe and Ice Lakes. These lakes are some of the few places in the park, much less the Lower 48, where you have the opportunity to catch Arctic grayling and west slope cutthroat trout. We are poised for a great first backcountry trip where hungry fish await!
We are all super pumped and this will certainly be a great trip with many fish in the net and countless memories made!
Until next time,
Hunt, Sean, and Kitchel
