Greetings all,
As our trip is wrapping up, the boys are hitting the water hard in hopes of landing some absolutely stunning fish. To begin our final stretch of the trip, the boys floated the Madison with three LFFE legends: Pat, Henry, and David. Lots of fish were caught and the boys got a break from fighting the swift current all day. While half of the trip floated, the other half went to another river in the area and absolutely hammered the fish - multiple rainbows and browns over 18 inches were landed.
The boys are sad to be out of the backcountry of Yellowstone and not catching native cutthroat on chubbies all day, but they are enjoying the luxuries of basecamp. Such luxuries include hot showers, so they won’t be returning home smelling like you know what.
The guide crew has been putting a lot of thought into a perfect location to fish for the last day of the trip. For the boys final capstone, we will be fishing Three Dollar Bridge on the Madison. Three Dollar is known for having huge, angry trout as well as swift, rocky water. The boys will have to put all of their skills together to not only hook into a fish, but to land it as well.
The boys are pumped up for banquet dinner after two weeks of eating out of a backpack. The guides will be preparing a phenomenal steak dinner for these well-deserving fishing phenoms. The boys will sit and recap the trip while enjoying their last night together.
Until next time,
Shane, Jacob, and Hunt
