Hello all,
It is hard to believe our Montana Road Trip Expedition is coming to an end, but it isn't over yet.
Yesterday, the kids completed their service project where they picked up garbage at a handful of boat ramps and campsites. It was great to have the chance to give back to the amazing public access that makes Montana trout fishing so special. After a game of kickball and early dinner, we hit the Upper Madison for the evening bug hatch. The bugs were infinite, but the fish were unusually difficult to fool. We managed to pull out a few fish, but it did not compare to our last few days of stellar fishing. Early this morning the kids departed on their float trip to cap off an amazing and memorable trip.
After the float, we will head back to Bozeman where we will camp out at the Bozeman Hot Springs. We are all excited about feasting at our banquet dinner while we look back on a memorable week. The flooding might have limited the number of rivers we could fish, but we are lucky that the ones we could fish were fishing excellent.
It has been a great 11 days with all of the kids and it has truly been rewarding to watch them grow both on the water and off. We hope to see everyone on future LFFE trips, but for now, take care and have a great rest of your summer.
