For the last couple of days, the group has been float fishing the Bighorn River. It's been hot, but the fishing has been even hotter. The guys are having fun and catching lots of great fish. We are staying at the Cottonwood Campground, located right in the center of the Bighorn Valley. This campground boasts large green lawns which is great for the group as it allows us to spread out. Evenings have been nice - we get some great fishing in, then play some games, eat, and sit around laughing and talking.
We have concentrated our fishing efforts on the upper sections of the river as they have been most productive. We're spending lots of time floating, which is an awesome way to cover water. The rafts serve as great transportation to spots along the river. We often stop and wade fish spots that others can't reach without boats.
While on the Bighorn, we've been fishing the evenings a lot - it's cooler, less crowded and this seems to turn the fishing on. All of the guys have landed nice fish and our camp is buzzing with excitement. We stoked about our next few days of fishing; it will sure be hard to leave this place. It's been fun watching the guys get to know each other a bit. It's also been awesome to watch the guys build their skills - everyone has improved their fishing in one way or another already (and we're just a few days in!).
Tight lines,
The guide crew
