The past few days of fishing have proved to be a test of perseverance. Unrelenting heat combined with an equally oppressive sun has had everyone exhausted by the end of the day. Although tough at times we rose each day with the sun to begin our canoe floats. Numerous fish were caught, more smallmouth bass, some big largemouth bass, and even a few pike. These last few days have served as a fitting end to the trip, and though difficult at times everyone embraced the grind that fishing, particularly pike fishing, can be. While not everyone was rewarded with catching a pike, everybody had a chance and learned some valuable lessons in the process. Regardless of the goal, whether that’s catching a big pike, brook trout or perhaps something unrelated to fishing, all you can do is give it your all, and that’s exactly what everyone did these last few days. We’ve got some great photos and even better memories to show for it. We’re writing this update as we depart from The Berkshires toward Harold Parker State Park where we’ll spend our last night enjoying some ultimate frisbee and great food before the send off tomorrow morning. Thanks for staying tuned and we can’t wait to reunite you all with your children, they’ll have some great photos and stories to share.
