Hello from Maine,
We have gotten our first couple days under our belt with our already very experienced young anglers, and we could not be more excited for the upcoming days. This is undoubtedly shaping up to be an awesome trip with a great group of guys.
After picking up our team from the airport, we immediately headed north for the Maine border, our home for the next 10 or so days. We stopped for some dinner on the way up, and once we got to camp, we set up and got to bed pretty early in order to prepare for the next day.
Tuesday was treated as a backcountry and trip preparation day, but we found some time to get on the East Kennebec to do a little fishing. We fished for a couple hours after taking care of our licenses in the morning, and then we headed back to prepare for our three night journey into Indian Pond.
Geared up and ready to enter the backcountry. The weather could not be any nicer!
The next three days, in my opinion (and most others), are one of the highlights of the trip. We will camp at the confluence of Indian Pond and the East Kennebec river, where we will be provided with the opportunity for brook trout, salmon, and smallmouth bass. During our stay, we will be shuttled with our canoes for two separate day long floats down the West Kennebec, known for its hungry trophy smallmouth. We couldn’t be more excited for what is to come.
Tight Lines,
Edward, Cal, Dayton, and crew
