In 2018 Riley Nebolsine caught his first trout as part of a Lillard Fly Fishing Expeditions Yellowstone Adventure. That trout, a native Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout, helped spark a love for fly fishing and subsequently a passion for conservation. During his 3 LFFE trips that followed, that love and passion continued to grow. An experience he wrote about in an essay that received an honorable mention from Trout Unlimited. In Riley's words, "I entered an essay competition with trout unlimited that was about the specific moment when you felt a responsibility to get involved with conservation. The moment I chose was catching my first trout on my first Lilliard trip in Yellowstone...I want to say thank you so much for the inspiration to write this essay, and the Lillard trips which I’ve been on have been some of the most wonderful times of my life."
We are the ones who should be thanking Riley. During all of the difficulty of operating during COVID, you and your essay remind us why we work so hard to achieve the LFFE mission.
Here is to "inspiring future generations of confident and independent anglers with a passion for conservation."
