Hi Everyone! Sorry for not getting an update out yesterday — we’ve been busy setting up camp and getting out onto the water! Yesterday we got everyone into camp and set up tents for our stay along the world famous Davidson river. After unpacking we made burgers at camp for dinner and got down to the river and got a few bites fishing the evening. This morning we woke up to a beautiful day and headed out fish a private section of the Davidson for large Brown and Rainbow Trout. With great conditions and solid fish activity everyone hooked a bunch offish this morning, with some up to ~20 inches. The higher than average water made for great fishing, but also made it hard to land the fish. After some practice everyone was able to land some big healthy trout. We have more pictures, but they are on the other guide’s phones. I will try to add some more to the next update. We hope to continue this success through the afternoon on another section of the Davison. After a couple more days of largely private water Davidson fishing in the front country we will head into the backcountry to fish high mountain streams for beautiful native Brook Trout. We will send out another update on 6/7. Tight lines from all of us in North Carolina!
