This morning we hiked out of the backcountry of the Blue Ridge Mountains for the last time during the summer of 2013. It was bittersweet as our group was enjoying the solitude and good fishing that hiking away from the crowds brings. On the other hand, as our trip winds down we still have two days of fishing for trophy trout, and a final banquet dinner to look forward to.

This afternoon, after some laundry and ultimate frisbee we will head back to our front country campsite along the Davidson River. The group is buzzing with excitement about what the next two days have in store. During our first trip to the private water we had several 20 inch plus trout on the line, but we have been unable to bring them all the way in. After 10 days of practice we are looking to change that! Check back on the 1st to see some pictures of some trophy trout…. we hope!
