It is official, the 2014 Blue Ridge Adventure is in the books! From catching wild brookies beneath breathtaking waterfalls to making new friends, the amazing adventure was full of highlights. After staying persistent through almost constant rain and some tough fishing during our second backcountry we ended the trip with probably the greatest highlight of them all.
We spent all of our final day of the trip fishing the private water of the Davidson

River with guides from Davidson River Outfitters. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! The fish were eating just about everything we through at them including big foam dry flies and flashy nymphs. Everybody in the group caught some beautiful fish including a couple real trophies over 18 inches and a huge 23 inch Rainbow trout. The full day on the water wore us out but after packing up for the trip home we regained our energy from one last dinner as a group at Hawg Wild BBQ. Over dinner we talked about all the great memories and all the exciting stories we have to tell. Will and I could not have asked for a better group of young anglers to spend 10 days fishing with. We are confident they will all go on to make many more great fishing memories, and hope that we have also helped to inspire a passion for backpacking, wilderness, and conservation. Lets fish again soon! Until then stay tuned for some updates from our CO West Elk, Yellowstone, and CO Rocky Mountain Adventures.
