Colorado Adventure II - update 3

The Colorado adventure II is wrapping up and what a trip it has been! We just finished our day of float fishing and are having our banquet dinner in Silverthorne tonight. The kids just spent the day relaxing in the pool at the rec center and a ready to come home.

The last couple days have been very exciting. We camped at Pumphouse last night and caught a great evening hatch with a few nice browns and rainbows landed. It was hard fishing, so catching anything was a huge achievement. We got to sleep early to get ready for the float.

The float was an early start, as we had to break down camp and get ready for the day. We had a quick cereal breakfast before meeting up with the guides. A few groups went and floated a lower section and the rest put in at Pumphouse. It was a great day of floating - the weather was awesome and the fishing was hot. Both groups did well with a few ~20” fish being landed! Each of these kids' fishing skills have improved in some big ways. It's always cool to think back on the first day of fishing compared to the last.

After the float, we met the group at Silverthorne and headed to our campsite on Lake Dillon named Heaton Bay. We set up camp and then headed to town where we stopped at the rec center. This rec center has lots of fun stuff including a water slide and hot tub. It even has a rock wall set up in the deep part of the pool. After a week of getting to know each other, it's fun watching the guys goof around in these settings; it's clear there are some great, new friends there.

Everyone was in a great mood heading to our banquet dinner. After dinner we are stopping and getting milkshakes before heading back to Heaton Bay. Tomorrow morning we are waking up and heading to the airport for our final send off. What an amazing trip this is been and I’m excited to share all of the stories and photos with you all.

Thanks,

Jack
